Chapter 54

His long eyelashes flutter at regular intervals and sometimes he dampens his lips with a quick flick of the tongue. I’m entranced. I can’t look away, and when he stops for a second, he catches me staring. Shit!

I look down, but not before noticing his half-smile.

“We’re done for today,” Sean tells the client. “Let’s schedule an appointment next week so we can finish.”

I keep my head down, very careful not to show my glazed-over look again. I don’t normally behave like this, but in front of him, I feel powerless.

After the client leaves, Sean plops down on the little sofa next to me and gives me with one of his legendary smiles.

“How about we get something to drink? I don’t have any other appointments for a while. There’s a bar nearby.”

I try to think up an excuse not go, but while I’m looking for a good one, my head moves in a nod. Great! I can’t even control my body anymore.

The bar is nice and bright. We take seats near the window and both order a drink.
