Chapter 60

I drive away those thoughts while I wait for him to get out of the shower. I’m at his apartment again and waiting to talk to him so I can complain that he accepted a lunch invitation from Charlie, despite the looks I sent him to try and dissuade him from falling into her trap. But he has a big heart. And he likes people. And he likes Charlie.

I’d like to start listing the reasons why it would be better for us to be alone for lunch, but he decides to come out of the bathroom wearing nothing but a towel wrapped around his hips and I get lost. I’m not usually a chatty person as it is, let alone when I’m caught by surprise by such a vision.

Sean’s hair is damp, so instead of being curled in soft spirals, it falls on his shoulders and in front of his eyes in golden waves. A little smile teases the corners of his mouth and I think it’s because he notices me mentally removing the towel.
