“Okay.” Archie nodded and reached for his hand. “So you want to talk to her. We don’t have to come, you can go on your own.”
Go on his own? A cold knot formed in his belly. “Perhaps you should come with me?”
“You want to bring a nagi to your maker?” Edie showed her double set of fangs.
No, he couldn’t. “I have to make sure I’m not killing you by being here, by being connected to you.”
Archie blew out a breath and looked between them. “I don’t want to go. I don’t want to spend another second in the cold and the rain, and I don’t want to dig around parks and gardens because someone lost an earring.” Gael nodded, he could understand Archie’s frustration over having to stop everywhere. “But, if you want to go, we’ll go.”
The grimace was adorable, and Gael wanted to kiss him. “I have to make sure we’re not dying.”
“I’m going home.” Edie stood with a sigh. “I need a nap, and since Gael is up, he can man the shop.” She winked.
