Searching for Solid Ground

With nothing left to do, the three of them make their way to the waiting room down the hall. Quinn itches to go back into Skylar’s room, but he saw the look on Skylar’s face before he left. He just wants to be left alone. Quinn plans to respect that. He plans to respect any and all of Skylar’s wishes, whatever they may be.


They sit in silence until the door opens and Dr. Fleming calls them over. She and Quinn had gotten to know each other quickly since he spent every day by Skylar’s side. She even came in to kick him out a few nights after visiting hours were over.


“Quinn.” The woman gives him a friendly nod before leading them back toward Skylar’s room.
