“Go! Get out of here!”
The second time, he listened. He turned and ran.

A loud snort from Archie brought me around.
“God, what an asshole I am.”
I wanted to keep right on scowling, but Archie’s full on snoring made my face go another way.
“Damn, dude,” I whispered. “So, this is what it would be like to sleep beside you?” I couldn’t hold back a laugh. The walls were nearly shaking. “I’ve wondered. I pretended for a bit. I thought it might even happen, there, just a little while ago, when you explained how you weren’t half my age anymore. A little while…”
I ruminated on that.
“Years, ago, huh? Suddenly, you were the age I’d been when you were born, and I was coming up on forty. Then, you were twenty-something, and I was inmy forties. If only I could have gone backwards a little bit, until we caught up.”
