“What?”

“Come on.” He crooked a finger.

“No. I wasn’t…Not just because I’m, like, begging.”

“Come on.”

Stone brought the trash closer to his chest. “It’s not necess—” The crunch of plastic cups overpowered the rush of breath as the wind was knocked out of him.

“Hug me back.”

Stone rolled his eyes. “I can’t move my arms. You have to let go.”

“I don’t want to let go.”

“I don’t want you to,” Stone whispered, dropping the cups and freeing his arms to get them around Edison.

“That’s nice.”

“Yeah. Nice.”

“It’s green,” Edison said.

“Yeah. Green, even if we are doing it all backwards.” Stone was glad so many people bolted at cleanup time.

“You mean because we had hot sex before we hugged?”

“Before I even knew your name.” Alone was better.

“So, what comes next?” Edison asked.

“I don’t know.” Stone squeezed harder. “What?”

“A kiss someday, I think,” Edison decided.

“You think?”
