When PI Jake Marshall fails to stop the abduction and subsequent murder of a client who was being stalked, he vows to do everything in his power to identify the man responsible. He'll need all the help he can get, including Kelly, his partner in the agency, and Russ Foster, a library security guard he met at a local bar ... with whom he's becoming personally involved.<br><br>Soon, it becomes even more imperative they find the stalker when a friend of Jake's also disappears and everything points to the stalker as his abductor.<br><br>Can Jake and Russ stop the stalker before he kills again? Stalker

He made it back to the bed, and with the doctor and nurse’s help, was able to lie down on his stomach again.


“I’ll have her give you a mild sedative so you can sleep, and I’ll be back to check on you again this afternoon.”


“And set me free?” Jake asked hopefully.


“Possibly, if Mr. Foster is willing to keep an eye on you for the foreseeable future.”


Wallace chuckled. “Tuesday. You haven’t lost a week since you were found.”


“Russ works and doesn’t get off until eight, I think.”


“He mentioned that, so I guess you’ll be stuck here, as you put it, until he arrives.”


“Great,” Jake muttered. He wasn’t certain he wanted Russ playing nursemaid, but it would be better than having Kelly take him home to stay with her and her husband, he supposed. And a hell of a lot better than staying here until the doctor thinks I can manage on my own.


The nurse gave him his shot and soon he was sleeping, again.
