He blew out a relieved breath. “Thank fuck it’s not expired.”
Jordan wasn’t going to examine the happy feeling that washed through him at the announcement. If Beckett was worried about an expiration date, it had been a while since he’d had a need for them. Jordan wasn’t stupid enough to think Beckett hadn’t had lovers, but there was something exciting about being the first one in a long time. Jordan felt chosen.
Unless, of course, Beckett just hadn’t had the opportunity in rural Oregon and Jordan was the first willing thing to come along.
“Hey, no. What’s with the frown?”
Jordan startled and shook his head. “What? Nothing. I’m fine. Kiss me.”
Beckett went still instead and smoothed a stray lock back from Jordan’s forehead. His gaze was intense. “Jordan?”
Christ, his name sounded good on Beckett’s lips. He wanted to turn away from the scrutiny, but he was naked. Jordan trusted Beckett enough to let him inside his body. He should be able to tell Beckett the truth.
