Beck fought not to preen when Jordan once again took his hand as they walked to the door.
He wanted to look around inside and see if he could find his favorite wine in the corner, but first he and Jordan got into line at the deli counter. Enough people were waiting that it was hard to have a conversation, but Jordan seemed content just to stand close to Beck as he read the menu board. What Beck really wanted to do was move up behind Jordan and wrap his arms around his waist, but he wasn’t sure that would be appreciated. Before he could make up his mind, it was time for them to place their orders. Once that was done, he leaned in close to Jordan’s ear.
“I’m gonna go over there and pick up some wine. Okay?”
Jordan nodded and squeezed Beck’s fingers. “I’ll get the sandwiches and come find you in a minute.”
Beck wanted to kiss him. Instead Beck smiled and walked toward the wine.
