“You’re going off to the University of Michigan was a result of your gymnastics scholarship. If I have to, I will transfer you to Spring Arbor where we planned on sending you in the first place. It is a fine faith-based college, and you will get a top-tier education, while at the same time you’d be free of the temptations you face from going to a secular school.

“We had this discussion before we made the decision to let you go to Michigan. I trust it will be the last time. Let’s keep this thing about your drinking between us. I don’t want to worry your mother.”

“Yes, sir. It won’t happen again,” Frank said, relief spreading through him now that he’d dodged the bullet. But he knew at some point in the future there would be hell to pay if things worked out with Bill. How could he keep something like that from his family?
