I found that sexy. “No keep them on, that’s fine.” I had an image of him in nothing those boots, but quickly chased it away.

As he looked around again, Lei made an appreciative sound, and then his eyes finally met mine. “Very cool apartment.”

“Thanks.” I stepped a little closer to him and finally noticed he was carrying a wine bottle. “Hey, where’s mine?” I joked, taking the bottle out of his hand and setting it down on the coffee table which was in fact a wooden and ornamented chest I’d covered with movie stickers.

“Actually, that is yours.” He was now studying my bookcase. He shot me a quick glance over his shoulder. “I don’t drink.” He pressed his hand against the shelf and knocked down my 1933 movie King Kong on the Empire State Buildingfigurine.

“It’s okay,” I said, standing the figurine up. “He’s used to falling off that building. I can make some tea, if you like.” I headed for the kitchen. “Let’s go in here, okay?”
