“Sweetheart, I need your wrist,” I whispered, and he leaned back, wiping at his face with one hand while offering me the other. I fixed it around his wrist the same as I had Fara’s, and then took his face in my hands to wipe his tears away. He was smiling and biting his lip, and I felt so full of emotion I could have burst.
“I love you,” he whispered.
I kissed him. “I love you, too.”
He draped himself over me again in another hug and I cuddled him until Nate tapped him on the shoulder.
“Stop hogging them, Joshua.”
“Sorry,” Josh said, chuckling and bashfully returning to the sofa. “I’m just happy.”
“Come here,” Fara said, and pulled Josh into her arms. “You can cry on me until Star and Nate are done.”
Josh moved into her embrace easily, and I moved over to kneel in front of Nathaniel.
“Oh, Nate,” I sighed, and rested my cheek on his knee. “I have so many things to say to you that I still haven’t figured out where to start.”
