“Who are you two talking about?” Steve asked.

“A new ghost we’ve met named Davis.” I offered a brief synopsis of what had been going on.

“She didn’t even get the name right once she was told what it is.” Shelby gave me a gentle shove.

“Right? We know, Davis. We know.”

The curtain fluttered again, and Wilbur went off, like an alarm.

“They’re good spirits,” Goose assured him over the barking.

“There’s a ghost in my house?” Shelby asked.

“Seems like,” Goose told her.

“Damn. I mean…” Shelby looked all around. “Darn.”

The show came back after several more ads, and we focused in on that. “What can we do for you, Micha?” the host asked him.
