Chapter 48

“My image was clearer, too, this time,” Goose said. “Jack and Micha as little boys…I saw them as if I’d been right there when it happened. I hope Micha likes my rendering.”

On our way back out, we ran into Sunny, Sunny the ER and ICU nurse who had cared for us both.

“Hey, you two!” She remembered us. “How are you?”

“We’re doing well. Thank you,” I said.

“And married?” She reached for Goose’s hand, inspecting it.

“Just about two months away,” he told her. “October.”

“Nice, boo!”

“Do you know a nurse named Alice?” Goose asked her as we made our way to the exit.

“A few.”

“Living?”

“Oh. Is this a ghostly thing?”

“It is,” I said. “We’ve seen her twice. Trying to connect her to someone we know, is all.”
