Chapter 22

Chad was out of breath when Tucker opened the door to stop his excited pounding. “What the hell, man? Maintain.”

“Sorry. We…picked…the song,” Chad said between deep gulps of air.

“Far out! Lay it on me,” Tucker said.

Rather than speak, Chad handed it over. It was “Age of Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In,” by The 5thDimension. “Mrs. Cornell…” There was a long pause after that, until Chad finally caught his breath. “Mrs. Cornell says we can sing it…as a group…and I can sing the opening line. The ‘When the moon is in the seventh house’ part.” He could barely say it, let alone sing it. “It’s still a solo, just, ya know, a short one.”

“Without a doubt! It sure is.” Tucker knew the song. “I love it. I own it. I…think.” Tucker looked at his ever-growing collection. “Is it…really, ya know, graduation-y.”

Chad frowned.
