Chapter 60

“Jason, just do it, okay? You don’t have to see anyone you don’t want to.” Reid hung up

Cameron stood up. “I’m heading out.”

“Cameron, don’t. That’s ridiculous. It’s your house. Don’t get chased out of your own place, man.” Reid stood as well, reaching out to him.

Cameron shook his head. “He’s got skills that I don’t. Talents, really. It’s more important that we stop this demon than for Jason to stay off the property, so I’ll just…go elsewhere. We don’t want to see each other—it’s not just me, it’s mutual—and I’m a grownup. I’ll take myself out of the equation. Text me when it’s safe to come home.”

Reid scowled and gestured toward the door. “Or you could be an adult about it, stick around and work together to get the job done faster.”

Cameron scoffed. “Yeah, we tried that way. Fought a bunch, slept together, and made the problem worse. You don’t actually need me for this part.” He went upstairs to get some supplies and made to leave the house.
