After his mom passes away from a terrible accident, Carlos heads home to Tres Reynas for the funeral -- and to reunite with his brother. Given he left after his parents abandoned him for coming out, it's not a homecoming he's looking forward to.<br><br>Once home, he learns a neighbor wants to steal his family's ranch, and his brother is considering selling it. Determined not to let the ranch be lost, Carlos works to save it -- with unexpected help from the handsome, rugged Eugenio.<br><br>But Carlos can't seem to focus, especially with his mother's image seeming to haunt the ranch mirrors, like she's trying to tell him something -- or maybe like he's just losing his mind.

“Do you think they’re in trouble?”


“No, I think we are.” Eugenio kept driving, trying to go a little faster. The truck also picked up speed, then made its way to the side of Eugenio’s truck. Its speed increased until it had pulled completely even with their truck, then it swerved to hit them hard enough to send them off the road.


Eugenio kept his grip on the wheel, trying his best to avoid hitting any trees, signs, or animals. He stopped the truck and put his hand on Carlos’s shoulder. “I don’t know what’s going on. I need you to stay in here on the driver’s side with the engine running. If anything happens, I need you to drive off as fast as you can to the ranch. I’ll hold them back as much as I can.”


Carlos’s heart began to beat fast, showing signs of panic. “No, I can’t let you go out there alone. We are in this together, whatever it is.”


“Dammit, don’t be so stubborn. I would die if anything happened to you, especially if I could have done something about it.”
