“I know what you mean. I’m confident he’ll pull through. We got the bullets and fragments out, repaired the rib cage. It’s a long journey but he’s tough, he’ll pull through. You did a great job in there Gabe. I appreciate your help.”
Dr. Manning walked away, stretching his neck as he went into the doctor’s lounge. Gabe knew they gave it all they had. He’d give Dylan a call once he took a minute for himself.
“The head nurse said you were on your way out so I grabbed you a coffee.” Chief Johnson waved to a chair in the hallway.
“Thanks for the coffee. I’m going to give Dylan a call before checking on Chase in recovery.” He smiled at the chief when he realized from the aroma that it was a real coffee from across the street.
