Chapter 18

“You didn’t want to go with him?” Joshua asked in a whisper just as I was starting to drift off.

My eyes snapped open, and I looked over my shoulder with a frown. “Who?”

I could see the blush high on his cheeks. “That guy. From the gala.”

I scowled playfully, but shook my head fast. “Not even a little.”

“Good.” Joshua sounded relieved. Then he pulled me in closer, and I let his body warmth and his breathing lull me to sleep.7

Six months later, and I was still in awe of our relationship. Every day was better than the last. And our sex life? Good God, things just kept getting better there, too. Joshua’s skills in the bedroom were extraordinary. The more he learned about my body, about what I liked, the more he worked to find out what drove me crazy. By the same token, all I wanted to do was please him, to make him scream with passion. Suffice it to say, things in the bedroom were still going at a full burn and I couldn’t be happier about it.
