Chapter 13

“C’mon,” he said, lifting her up and walking away. “Next exhibit?” He glanced behind him to check that Jamie was following.

“There’s a map over there,” Jamie pointed out.

Luke nodded, and they headed over to the large printed map of the zoo.

Their conversation about where Jamie was going to live would have to wait for now, Luke figured.

“We’re here,” Jamie pointed at the centre area of the map. “Where to next? Tropic Zone sounds cool, and it’s close by.”

“Yes!” Sofia squealed, and abandoned Luke’s arm in favor of looking at the map with Jamie. She traced the paths with her finger, pointing at exhibits.

“Tropic Zone says bats, birds, and snakes,” Jamie said to her. “Sound fun?”

“Yes!” Sofia bounced up and down.

“Great.” Jamie smiled, then added, “We have to walk past something called the Intelligence Garden to get to it.” He glanced at Luke with a wicked smirk. “Guess you’ll have to sit that one out.”
