Chapter 62

“Do you know his name?” Terrell asked quietly. “You talk as though you’ve met him. But we have no idea how to find this guy, and we don’t know much about him.”

Her expression grew deadly serious. “He will find you.”

“Can you tell us anything more about him?” Terrell sounded so hopeless. It took the wind out of his partner.

“You must be ready. He is greed personified. He is inhuman. Like any fire with unlimited kindling, his parade of violence will not stop until something or someone puts it out. If you get the chance, do not hesitate.” After a short silence, she went on, “And he has help. I believe he is a fledgling to another monster. A great force living in shadow. After you deal with him, you will have an even more difficult foe waiting.”

Terrell gulped nervously. Dakota could see that he gripped his cane so hard his knuckles turned light in color. He drifted over to Terrell and patted him on the back. “We’ll get the bastard.”
