“Okay, I’ll get the list.” There was a slight twitch of her mouth in a small smile. “You do know how to make an entrance, Karl.”
Karl had nothing to say to that.

Helen Iqbal was a petite woman. Barely five feet tall with pale red hair that was cut short, just long enough for some wave. The green dress that wrapped her tiny frame matched her eyes. She looked a bit like a pixie.
Karl had felt her pain as Shannon led the woman out of the hall. She wasn’t wailing, just crying quietly with tears streaking her cheeks. She didn’t argue as Karl led them to a staffroom further down. From his recollection, the lock on that room had always been broken and the staff were too lazy to get it fixed. It opened with a slight nudge and Karl switched on the lights as Shannon led Helen to a chair. Then she drew up another chair and sat in front of the woman.
“I’m sorry you had to hear about his death like this, Mrs. Iqbal.” Shannon said.
