Chapter 34

“Ahh,” Andrewe sighed as goose bumps broke out on sweaty flesh. “Now do the other thousand inches.”

Emmett grinned and traced his fingertips down Andrewe’s naked spine. “I think, your Highness, that would only serve to heat you more.”

The sound that tumbled from Andrewe’s throat was more of a purr than anything else. “Yet that kind of heat I do not mind, sir.”

Andrewe was resting on his bed, belly down and propped on his elbows, while Emmett sat beside, the book Emmett had been reading aloud ignored on the coverlet. The solstice had not been kind, using the full moon to kick summer into full gear and humidity hung thick, drenching skin and wilting greenery.

Andrewe dropped with a grunt and rolled on to his back. “Amuse me,” he said, plying Emmett with a wicked grin.

“I thought that’s what I was doing with the poetry?” Emmett teased, though his hesitation had more to do with the nervous tension in his belly than jest. “It is too hot to play other games.”
