Chapter 61

It’d be one of the hardest things Ellis had ever done in his life, but he could cut out Bryn. Ellis would switch shifts to avoid Bryn when he came to the range, and other than that, Ellis would likely never see Bryn again. It wasn’t like Ellis had any excuse to go to the ballet. To watch the man he loved shine like a beacon on stage…

“Fuck,” Ellis said quietly.

“We here?” Bryn mumbled, opening his eyes.

“Yeah.” The car pulled through a gate and swept toward a shiny white jet with its door open and steps down. Ellis had never been on a private plane before. He wasn’t even sure he’d seen one in person. “Wow,” he said.

Bryn didn’t comment, and when the car came to a stop, he climbed out and up the plane’s steps with Ellis’s help. The interior of the aircraft was plush with leather swiveling seats, solid wood tables, marble trim, and carpeting. Bryn took a seat next to a window and put his crutches on the seat directly next to him. Ellis took the hint. He sat across the aisle.
