Chapter 27

The downside of the situation was that Ryker had seen very little of Alejandro since the night they’d caught Janelle. He’d given up the role at the hotel and had to report to his own people.

However, he’d given his word he’d meet Ryker for dinner, and, to Ryker’s relief, Alejandro sauntered into the restaurant dressed the same as the first time they’d eaten together at the promised time.

This would be the last evening meal at the hotel, and Ryker couldn’t help but wonder what the future held for him and Alejandro. Mitch had already asked, but at Ryker’s shake of the head, hadn’t questioned him further.

As the waiter brought over a shared dessert, Ryker decided it was time to ask questions.

“Is everything sorted?”

“Yes.” Alejandro took a spoonful of mango sorbet and hummed his pleasure. “There is no challenge to my assertion that we are mates. Of course, you’ll need to be introduced to those who I report to in due course, but that’s for the future.”
