Ben closed his eyes and looked down. “Low blow. Well deserved, but low.” He looked back up. “Anyway, the Agency placed several different recording devices in this condo yesterday. They’re for your protection, not because Townsend wants to watch what you do in the shower. Once we realized that you were a target, we wanted to be able to get eyes on what other people were doing in your place.


“We also found several high-quality, high-tech devices that we did not place in this condo. We circumvented them; the people who use them are getting recordings that suggest that everything is normal. This was all put in place about an hour before your abduction.” He cleared his throat. “Do you feel like talking about that? It must have been traumatic.”
