“Just a few more weeks and they’ll be here.”

“Yes,” Sol agreed, his tone reverent. “Mymrrsaifuastis on their way. They will be here in time to help me bring our kustinto the world.”

“I can’t wait.”

Sol gave a soft smile. “Nor can I.”10

“What do you think of this red shirt?” I asked Sol, slipping it over my head, then striking a pose. Sol grimaced, so hard it looked painful. I chuckled and pulled it off. “That bad, huh?”

Sol didn’t answer, and I absently smoothed my hair in place as I glanced at him, stretched out on our bed. He really looked like he was hurting. And not just because of my poor choice in fashion.

I rushed over. “Sweetheart?”

He grabbed my hand and put it on his belly. It was hard as rock. Panic flooded through me for a split second before I realized what was going on. As the tension loosened and he breathed normally again, I sat on the edge of the bed.
