Chapter 7

He pulled out front of the building that housed Amelia’s office, the easiest place to make a pick-up he had told her, and immediately began to panic over what he saw. Mason lived a grand total of twenty-two kilometres out of the city. On a good day, it was a twenty-minute drive. On a bad day, usually any day during the week that he didn’t manage to sneak out of the office before the rest of the city did, it could take anywhere from forty minutes to an hour. For some unknown reason, considering it was Sunday morning and extremely early, the traffic had been ridiculous already. So whether it was the fact that he was nearly thirty minutes late, or just fate enjoying a chance to fuck with him, there were three men standing outside the building as opposed to one.
