Chapter 10

“You don’t go to church? My mother still guilts me into going to midnight mass on Christmas Eve. Apparently being an atheist isn’t a good enough reason to skip church at Christmas.” Liam smiles.

“My family goes, but they don’t try and make me go. I went as a kid, but it was never really for me. And Daisy is six; she wants to run around, not sit in a church. So we get to have fun while the grown-ups go,” Jake says happily.

Liam comes over to where Jake is standing by his Christmas tree and wraps his arms around Jake’s waist. Jake wraps his own arms around Liam, pulling him even closer to Jake’s front. He leans down and kisses Liam.

They make out slowly, and Jake slides his hands up and under Liam’s shirt, stroking the soft skin of Liam’s back. He can feel Liam shiver in his arms. He backs off enough to start undoing Liam’s shirt. This time Jake doesn’t worry about being neat. He just lets Liam’s shirt fall to the floor.
