Chapter 17

“I think she’s having a heart attack,” Sandy says.

Rolling his eyes, Jonah shakes his head. “She’s fine. Let’s get out of here and go for a ride, Sandy. I don’t know if I can take one of her overdramatic scenes again.” He walks out of the kitchen, through the dining room, and ends up in the living room where his winter coat is located for use.

Sandy follows, grinning from ear to ear, pleased with the outcome of this family drama.

As Sandy leaves the kitchen area, Pam becomes an award-winning actress and falls limp in Ricky’s arms and over his lap, claiming, “He’s killing me. My loving son is killing me. All I want is a happy life for him and he’s killing me. I don’t understand. I can’t begin to understand.”
