The Adelinadidn’t give the appearance of a large boat, but she was roomy enough that Dinah and I were given our own cabins, even though those cabins were only large enough for a bunk with built-in storage for our clothes and a washstand. Carlos, Leo, and Sam had to share, something Sam objected to vehemently.

Carlos gave him a stern look. “You cannot share a cabin with your lovely fiancée.”

“I could bunk with David.”

“No. If you don’t wish to share with me and Dr. Avalon, then you must sleep in a hammock above deck.”

“With the crew?” Sam’s distaste was obvious. “Never mind.”
