“Good.” She turned to me and pointed a finger. “You don’t move.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

Angela scowled and tromped off into the kitchen. Marielle smirked and waggled her eyebrows at me. The only reason I didn’t give her the finger was because there were children present.

I took the gentle hugs and kisses from my pseudo niece and nephews, but they quickly lost interest in me because I couldn’t wrestle and play on the floor like I usually did. Uncle Travis was an awesome jungle gym, but it seemed I wasn’t good for much else. Today, I was okay with quietly sitting in the corner of the sofa and letting the chaos swirl around me.
