His Needs

“You ready to get back to work?” Noah asked between bites. He shot me a knowing look and I had to chuckle.


“I’m so fucking bored I don’t even have words.” I took a sip of coffee and then swished my bacon through the syrup on the plate before munching down. I chewed and swallowed, then continued. “I go back to the doctor next week, and he thinks he’ll be clearing me for duty then. I can’t wait.”


Noah nodded, then placed the last piece of French toast on my plate. “Desk duty?”


I made a grumbling noise even as I nodded. “Unfortunately. Light duty with restrictions means I’ll be riding a desk for a few more weeks. But at least I’ll be out of the house and doing something with myself.”
