“I’m so sorry. Wayne is sorry, too. I can sense his anguish deep inside me. He loved James. He wanted only to protect James, the man he loved more than life itself.”


Zeke continued to cry as he scooted closer to Sterling. “But we’re here now.”


Sterling nodded. “This time around, we willhave our happy ending.”


“I’ll try damn hard to make sure of it,” Sterling said with a growl.


Zeke wrapped both hands around Sterling’s waist before resting his head against the older man’s chest. “Okay.”


Sterling expelled his breath as he held on tightly. “There’s something I need to tell you, though.”


Zeke glanced up at him. “What is it?”


“Even before I knew for sure that I was Wayne in my previous lifetime, I was already attracted to you. I’m Sterling, and you’re Zeke. We may be continuing with James and Wayne’s love because it has been cut short, but we’re not them.”


Zeke smiled as he nodded. “I know.”
