Chapter 59

“One of the reasons, yes.”

Kenna walked up next to the woman and pretended to look down at the screen. But in reality, there was only one piece of information she still needed. She pressed the barrel of her gun against the woman’s jaw. “Now would you kindly point me in the direction of your talisman? We can’t leave it with you. I’m sure you understand.”20

A gasp came from Yuuki. “Hey, shouldn’t we—”

“Get out of here? Yup. Just one minute.” Turning back to the woman. “Where is it? Don’t make me shoot you.”

After a long pause, the target gave in. “It’s next to the bed. On the nightstand.”

Ken grabbed the woman by the collar and forced her to rise. Together, they stumbled into the back room while Yuuki waited awkwardly near the computers. Once she saw the necklace, sitting exactly where it’d been advertised, that was it. Though they didn’t have Dakota, this was a successful mission. The mark would never use that rock to hurt people again.
