And fake wedding or not, he was going to be Lance’s husband and that scared the crap out of him. Relationships weren’t him. Once Lance had rejected him, he’d found it was easier not to get his heart involved. A quick fuck at the bar, in the truck, or at their place took care of his needs and let him stay single. He couldn’t have even considered bringing a man around the house while his father was still living.

“You need to get the hell off my property!”

Wade turned to see Milton Randle screaming at him, the old man’s face red and contorted with anger, with the ranch hand trailing behind him.

“Get the fuck out of here!” he yelled, pointing at them.

Wade took a deep breath. This was not going to end well. He hadn’t been one hundred percent certain his cattle were in the huge old barn, but he was now. “Give me our cattle and we’ll be on our way,” he said, keeping his voice even.
