Casey nodded and flicked his gaze at Wade. “Hey, I drove—how you getting home? Do you want me to text you when I’m done?”


“Yeah. I can’t ask Lance to run me home in the middle of his work day. And I do want to spend some time with Charlie and the ranch hands. Now that Josh gave us an ‘all clear’ when it comes to the ‘crime scene,’ I know they’ll be dealing with the carcass removal today and that’s not a pretty job.”


“Nope. And I can’t say I’ve ever had to deal with five at once like this.”


That was probably true. Occasionally one would die from something out of the blue, but this was so out of the norm, he couldn’t find anything to compare it to.
