“Sounds like fun,” Lance whispered as he rose to take his plate to the kitchen, holding out his hand for Wade’s dish.


“Thanks,” Wade told him, happy for the kind gesture.


They worked together to clean the table and Lance ended helping Lorna with the dishes. Wade followed Casey to the barn to talk with Charlie, but his mind was back at the kitchen, watching Lance talk with Lorna. If he hadn’t left with his brother, Wade was afraid he would have pressed himself up behind Lance and wrapped his arms around him.
