Chapter 10

Being stupid, we walked farther into the cave, and used our phones as flashlights when it got darker. After a bend we found the cave art and enjoyed not having to fight the crowds to see it. We weren’t alone long, however, as after another short walk and another corner, we heard someone behind us. I said, “I hope it isn’t Roger! That would be the worst!”

Well, I was right (it wasn’t Roger) and I was wrong (it wouldn’t have been the worst.) It was one of the locals, probably one of the guides. We were looking at a drawing of a fearsome beast; it basically resembled a person, but so tall it reminded me of those red-haired giants you hear rumors about. It had the head of a horse and its eyes had been daubed bright red.
