“You must be Rob,” she said, and proffered her hand for a shake. “I’m Kayla. It’s nice to meet you.”

Rob accepted her hand with a grateful smile. “Thanks. It’s nice to meet you, too.”

“Who says I got you one?” Kayla said lightly as she opened the bag and began pulling out foil wrapped sandwiches.

“I made the coffee,” Jack protested. “Fair is fair.”

Kayla shot him an unimpressed look. “I drink tea, and you know this.”

“Now that’sfair,” Kayla said gamely. She tossed a sandwich to Jack, who caught it one handed. She grabbed another and held it out to Rob. “Do you like pork roll?”

Rob shrugged and accepted the sandwich. “I don’t know,” he admitted. “What is it?”

“It’s like ham, but better.” Jack took an enormous bite out of his sandwich.
