“I’m playing at the Red Fin tomorrow night, too. We’ll go out to dinner afterward, just you and me. No baggage, just two friends having a burger.”

His offer soothed at least some of the lines from Christopher’s forehead. “I like that.” A smile slowly bloomed. “Especially since that means I get to hear you play two nights in a row.”

“You can hear me play any time you want.” Gage glanced up at the clock on the wall. “Except now because we’ve already been gone for over a half hour. Maybe we should get back before they send a search party.”

“Something tells me Rev wouldn’t mind at all.” Christopher went around Gage to continue on into his bedroom area. “I’ll get dressed while you pop those painkillers.”

“Yes, sir.”
