“Would you prefer to go somewhere else?” I asked. “We don’t have to go to Chantilly Lace.” That was the restaurant where the Families went, and because they did so, everyone else in Martinsburg who could afford it wanted to as well. In addition, it had a very stringent dress code

“I want to take you there.”

“All right.” The blazer I wore was suitable, as was Hyde’s business suit. I leaned forward and dusted off my knees. Fortunately, the pavement I’d knelt on had been clean and dry.

We walked out to the parking lot, and I stole surreptitious glances at him. While I couldn’t tell if his trousers were snug over his hips and ass, I’d seen him once in chinos, so I didn’t have to imagine what he looked like. I licked my lips and couldn’t help grinning to myself.

He took out the key fob and pressed a button on it. There was a chirrup, and the lights of a sleek black Mercedes SUV blinked as the doors unlocked.

“Sir has an M-Class just like this.”
