“Apparently he wanted to bring his roommate home with him.”

“That was all?”

“They were going to share Daniel’s room.”

“Yes, so?”

“The roommate was a guy.”

“Geoff—”

“Kipp.” He was becoming impatient. “There was only one bed in Daniel’s room.”

“They couldn’t bring in a futon?”

“You know how big the Richardson house is. There was no need—”

“Y’know something? He could have saved all that aggravation if he’d just kept his mouth shut.”

“Would you have done that?”

“Done what?”

“Brought a…a boyfriend home and asked that he stay in your bedroom?”

“Uh…” I boggled simply at the thought of Sir allowing me to invite anyone to visit.

“You see? You were raised better than that.”

“I hate to disillusion you, brother mine, but it has nothing to do with how I was raised. If I cared about someone enough to bring him home—” and that would have been to Silver Birch, not Llewellyn Manor “—it’s for damned sure I’d stay in a hotel with him.”
