As he picked up piece after piece of the beautiful instrument, he could see that it had lost most of its luster, having been covered with the varnish of age. It was truly a gem of the past, the expression of the human soul that created it, and possibly a clue into Lathe’s past.
When he picked up one of the pieces, he managed to make out the name “Algazar.” He didn’t know the name, had never heard it, but knew it must be a name well known among vintage instruments. Picking up the shard he handled it carefully as he put it in his shirt pocket and hurried back to his room.
For the next few days Anjelo did some research on Algazar Vintage Saxophones and learned that they were sold in a small shop in the historic section of Music Row on 48thStreet.
