The rise they were standing on dropped off sharply, plummeting down farther than it had felt like they’d climbed. A glance over his shoulder showed they’d gone a good distance from the edge of the campus proper, although to the left and right of the small woods they’d trekked through were athletic fields. The vantage point gave a sprawling view of the campus—one that looked familiar from university brochures—but the real sight was on the other side of the pseudo-cliff.
