Chapter 4

This last event was billed as a bonding party. That sounded innocuous enough. However, when Tucker and Keenan arrived at the frat house, they were surprised to find the refreshment menu consisted of several kegs of beer, plates of crackers, and wheels of cheese. Alcohol had never been served at any of the rush events at Lambda House until now. It was explained by the pledge master of the day as this was Wisconsin, the beer and cheese capital of the Midwest, in order to be a real Lambda Badger, they were expected to eat cheese, drink beer, and be merry.

Keenan hadn’t done much drinking in high school. He’d never understood the point of getting stupid and making a fool of yourself. Tucker had done his share of imbibing, but nothing excessive. But in the spirit of being good Lambda Badgers, they agreed to comply. After about two hours, most of the pledges were quite drunk, and Tucker and Keenan were sporting a fair buzz.
