“Shoot! I guess Penny forgot I asked her to get someone else to lead the tour,” he said to a little pug puppy in the kennel in front of him. Sighing and affixing what he hoped was a welcoming smile to his face, he scooped up Tripod and made his way toward the noisy kids who were already oohing and aahing over the little dogs in their kennels.

Keenan usually didn’t mind giving tours of the rescue facility. He enjoyed letting people know of the importance of adopting homeless animals and having their pets spayed or neutered to avoid overpopulation. However, today he was especially busy. He had a full slate of patients coming into the clinic.
