“I still love you, too.”
Carson’s breath hitched, and he felt as if his heart was about to stop beating for a second or two as he widened his eyes and looked straight into Jonas’s eyes. “What?”
Jonas chuckled. “I still love you, too. I want you to know I’ve never stopped loving you either.”
Carson observed Jonas’s expression as cautiously as possible. “Really? This isn’t an April Fool’s joke, right?”
“This is the middle of October,” Jonas deadpanned while rolling his eyes. “Did you somehow lose your sanity because of the venom? The doctor had to spend nearly four hours with you inside the operating theater, doing everything possible to stabilize your condition.”
“No!” Carson exclaimed before the severity of Jonas’s words hit him. “Wait! What? Four hours?”
