“As you say,” Haziel murmured. A strange feeling that the angel knew he was being brushed off made Zeke squirm. The same question he had at the start filled him up and he wanted to know the answer, so bad he almost blurted it out. That wasn’t any of his business though.
“You should rest. I’ll keep an eye out.” Zeke shifted his grip on the spear and turned a watchful gaze back to the cave opening. Next to him, Haziel rustled around for a few seconds and settled. Zeke let the quiet calm him. It was nice to just be for a little while. The last couple of weeks had been nonstop movement and the ability to rest was wonderful. Yes, their rest was forced, but Zeke wasn’t about to complain.
