“Um. Well, here’s something. ‘Labor Day Weekend Cut Short By Authorities after Lake Tahoe Disappearance.’ This is from 1962.”
“How is that something?” Johnny asked. “I bet lots of people have disappeared on the lake.”
“Maybe, but this particular person was staying at the Lakeview Manor at the time he disappeared. ‘Actor Benson Watts disappeared late Saturday night from a party thrown at Lakeview Manor. Witnesses saw him stumbling down the stairs to the dock.’” Ryan shook his head. “He probably tripped and broke his neck.”
“Is that it all it says?”
“No…his body was recovered a week later. His death was officially ruled an accident, but his family never accepted that ruling due to marks and bruises found on the body once it was recovered. Apparently the family’s concerns were written off due to the amount of time the body was in the water, post-mortem.”
“That’s very sad. But I’m still not sure what that poor bastard has to do with us.”
